A guide to one of the largest neighborhoods in LA County
Despite the proliferation of attention-getting restaurants in West LA, Downtown, and Silver Lake, there is truly no shortage of great places to dine at the fringes of Los Angeles’s urban core. That includes more sprawling mega-neighborhoods like the Valley and, as ever, the gigantic center of greater LA that is South Los Angeles. Comprised of many micro-cities and independent neighborhoods, South LA is basically one giant cultural cross-section of what Los Angeles has to offer ,and is loosely defined as that area below the 10 Freeway, inland from the South Bay, and ending north of Long Beach and west of the 710.

Within those communities, it is entirely possible to dine very well from dozens of different cuisine types. Here now, the best places to drink and dine in greater South LA.
