Some businesses remain open while 4,000 acres burn in Sylmar and Lake View Terrace
Strong dry Santa Ana Winds swooped throughout Los Angeles last night, starting a mountain wildfire that forced local residents, restaurants and bars to evacuate. The Creek Fire raged through the Lake View Terrace/Sylmar neighborhoods, prompting closures at local restaurants.
According to Curbed LA, the fire prompted mandatory evacuations throughout the area. The fire has affected 4,000 acres, with 20 to 30 miles per hour winds spreading the flames. Eater learned of a few restaurant closures in the area, including the Hideaway Bar and Grill in Sylmar, which is directly in the fire’s perimeter.
It’s likely that Tacos de Los Primos will not open in their regular location today, as residents were evacuated from the same area as the taco stand sets up shop. Taqueria Los Compadres, The Agave Bar and Grill, and the combination fast food chain Fatburger & Buffalo’s, did not pick up their phones during today’s lunch rush. The Ranch Side Cafe is currently open. More updates to come.
