Here now, Eater LA compiles some of the more notable openings scattered throughout Los Angeles. Every week we’ll be tackling new places to check out in various neighborhoods. Any new spots that we might’ve missed? Hit the tipline.

July 5, 2017:

Koreatown— Koreatown is on a new eatery rampage, with a bevy of new restaurants opening every week. This week a full food court made its debut, with over a dozen new concepts to check out. Located in The Gaju Market on Western and 5th, Square Mixx offers retailers like fusion noodle spot Nippong Naeppong, the highly Instagrammable shaved ice stall Cafe Bora, and brown rice seaweed roll concept Robot Kimbap. 450 S Western Ave Third Floor, Los Angeles

Downtown— Located on Olympic Boulevard in South Park is Loit Cafe, a coffee shop with all the sleek vibes. Expect airy surrounds, espresso and pour over classics, and even Jeni’s ice cream pints. 301 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles

Hollywood— It isn’t every day that a new Himalayan restaurant opens in Los Angeles. Well now Hollywood denizens can get a taste of the underrepresented cuisine thanks to Himalayan Hut. Taking over the former Gate of India restaurant right on Sunset Boulevard, the new menu offers momos, jackfruit curry, and yak chilli. 7300 Sunset Blvd Ste D & E, Los Angeles

Fairfax— Bulan Thai has made a quick flip on Melrose, now operating under the moniker Ruam Mitr. The restaurant kept a vegan menu, making it a go-to for the meat-free Mid-City denizens, but now also offers meat dishes to appeal to a wider audience. 7168 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles

Pico-Robertson— Yet another build-a-pizza spot has popped up, but this one comes with Kosher certification. One80 Pizzeria is the new neighborhood joint that follows the 800 Degrees model, but with customizable salads and cotton candy to boot. 8519 West Pico Blvd, Los Angeles

June 28, 2017:

Boyle Heights— Now this is an interesting one-two punch for evening festivities. Josefina Lopez, writer of the film Real Women Have Curves and artistic director of the Boyle Heights theater Casa 0101, has opened Casa Fina, a restaurant just three blocks from her theater. The restaurant offers classic Mexican cuisine for all-day fare with convenient pre-theater specials. 1842 E First St, Los Angeles

Koreatown— What is perhaps Los Angeles’ most popular restaurant for cold Korean noodles, or naengmyun, Yuchun has opened a second location on 7th and Vermont. Expect the same deal as the original location, meaning long wait times for its icy cold broth that surrounds chewy noodles, but with a sleek new interior. 698 S Vermont Ave Ste 111, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Yet another new Koreatown eatery, Hyodajong Chicken has popped up in Zion Market. Serving Korean dak kko chi, or chicken skewers, the snack shop offers a variety of flavors from mozzarella to fire for a protein-packed pick-me-up. 3500 W 6th St, Los Angeles

PasadenaDelicatessen by Osawa is the sister restaurant of Osawa Shabu Shabu & Sushi, serving a casual menu of cold grab-and-go items, hot deli case dishes, and various donburi. 851 Cordova St, Pasadena

Hollywood— A highly Instagrammable breakfast and lunch spot has opened in tourist trap corner of Hollywood and Highland. Dubbed Milk & Honey, the eatery specializes in “wellness bowls” and sandwich-like waffle cakes that can be filled with sweet and savory fillings. 1716 N Highland Ave, Hollywood

June 21, 2017:

Koreatown— It isn’t every day that we hear of a non-Korean barbecue restaurant opening in Koreatown. Such is the case with Boogie McGee’s Bayou Smokehouse BBQ. The restaurant with a mouthful of a name offers baby back ribs, smoked chicken, Andouille sausage, and, what might be a first for Koreatown, redneck nachos. 3377 Wilshire Blvd Ste 104, Los Angeles

Los Angeles— Last week, Big Juicy Slices made New Eateries waves by being one of the first delivery service-only pizzerias, albeit with mixed reviews. Now there’s another Postmates-only shop, Regular Guy’s Pizza, competing for mobile app-based pizza business. Seems like a savvy way to manage overhead while rents continue to rise.

The Valley— The fusion cuisine no one wanted to happen, Mexican sushi, has arrived. That’s thanks to new Valley Glen eatery MexSake, a self-described “sushi bar with Mexican flair.” What does that mean, exactly? Think tempura poblano peppers with spicy tuna and rolls topped with things like yuzu guacamole. Ay caramba. 13727 Victory Blvd, Los Angeles

The Valley— Taking over the former Sofi’s Cafe is The Primal Cafe. What seems to be a mecca for those following paleo and gluten-free lifestyles, the new restaurant specializes in no-sugar-added acai bowls, carb-free burgers, and protein-rich weekend-only breakfast fare. 6002 Woodman Ave, Los Angeles

Eagle Rock— Is the next wave of the Filipino movement fusion cuisine? Colorado Boulevard’s new Rick’s is serving just that, offering a menu of Filipino classics like adobo, sisig, and lechon and serving them as tacos, nachos, and burritos. 2700 Colorado Blvd Ste 117, Los Angeles

June 14, 2017:

Frogtown— In what might just be the most aptly named eatery in all of LA, Frogtowns Gourmet Tacos has launched a weekly pop-up in, well, Frogtown. The Wednesday night stand in a residential area boasts hand-pressed tortillas, a variety of fillings, and aguas frescas. 2853 Marsh St, Los Angeles

Koreatown— With myriad eateries opening every week, Koreatown may well be the most bustling restaurant neighborhood in town. One of this week’s newest spots, Street Food of Seoul, offers favorite finds from the food carts of Seoul. Located in the food court of Zion Market, expect spicy rice cakes called tteokbokki, a variety of Korean rice and seaweed rolls, and kimchi fried rice. 3500 W 6th St Ste 228, Los Angeles

Los AngelesBig Juicy Slices, a pizza concept that is listed as being located on Melrose, is a new delivery service-only eatery. It’s an interesting model that solely relies on Postmates, DoorDash, and UberEats to get its pizzas and breadsticks to its customers.

Beverly Grove— A New York-style deli experience has landed in LA thanks to Uncle Paulie’s Deli, a new eatery on Beverly and Kings that hawks classics like Italian cold cut sandwiches, artichoke caprese sandwiches, caponata, and Arnold Palmers. 8369 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles

East Hollywood— Fast casual seafood restaurants seem to be in the rise in Los Angeles. Now East Hollywood has a seafood-by-the-pound spot to call its own in Alaska Seafood. The eatery offers both Asian and Mexican preparations of fish and seafood, with the odd addition of Korean-style ramen available to accompany seafood combo fajitas. 4251 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles

June 7, 2017:

Downtown— Replacing the former Cafe Hill on, well, Hill between 6th and 7th is Salt N’ Peppa, a quick lunch spot for the office working crowd. The menu seems to have undergone a serious upgrade to include the requisite avocado toast, fried brussels sprouts, and burgers. 632 S Hill St, Los Angeles

Santa Monica— Yet another catch-all lunch go-to, Comfort Cafe has relocated from the Fred Segal Santa Monica store to 5th Street near Whole Foods. Don’t expect anything extraordinary, just a quick, clean place to refuel on healthy, vegetarian and vegan-friendly breakfast and lunch fare with what sounds like exceptional service. 1241 5th St Ste 102, Santa Monica

Eagle Rock— Located on Colorado near Eagle Rock Blvd is The Melt Spot, a sleek new cafe with every afternoon pick-me-up need. That means there’s everything from crepes to boba to gelato that can be washed down with LAMILL coffee. 2040 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Another day, another Korean barbecue contender vying to satisfy all those meat sweats-inducing cravings. With what is perhaps the most aptly named restaurant in the neighborhood, Meat Love Korean BBQ takes over the former Kogi King BBQ with an incredibly low priced $13.99 all-you-can-eat menu. Upgrade to the $19.99 deluxe version with kalbi and garlic steak for anyone feeling spendy. 1145 S Western Ave, Los Angeles

Mid-Wilshire— Operating in what was once Chulada Grill Express, Masala Grill has transformed the Mexican eatery to an Indian spot serving all the hits from the restaurant’s steam table. That translates to dosas, biriyani, and curry combos served in bento boxes in nicely revamped digs. 5607 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles

June 1, 2017:

Arts District— The newest sub-$10 lunch contender Downtown is Baffo, a hipsterized Airstream operation hawking a simple menu of six sandwiches prepared by a self-described “Italian guy.” Think concoctions like the $8 prosciutto and fried egg with sundried tomato and pesto on ciabatta and $7 caper-inflected tuna salad with housemade baked ricotta on a croissant. 836 Traction Ave, Los Angeles

Koreatown— An important subset of Korean cuisine, Korean-Chinese fusion, stands on the pillars of four important dishes: jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), jjam ppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), mandu (dumplings) and tang su yook (sweet-and-sour pork). Enter Pan Holic, a new fusion specialist with a limited menu including those four main dishes alongside fried rice and tofu. 3250 W Olympic Blvd Ste 316, Los Angeles

The Valley— Pan-Asian small plates aren’t dead, according to Hungry Crowd, a new Toluca Lake eatery. This lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch spot is the type of place for bulgogi breakfast burritos, sweet and spicy pork ribs, and white kimchi clam pasta. 10140 Riverside Dr, Los Angeles

Downtown— Following the build-your-own pizza model utilized by Blaze Pizza and 800 Degrees is a new fast casual concept, Fly Pie. The Downtown contender on Washington between Hill and Broadway offers a selection of toppings and “drizzles” to create custom pies, alongside signature combinations. 155 W Washington Blvd Ste G4, Los Angeles

Burbank— Los Angeles can’t seem to get enough Italian these days. Adding to the mix is MA’S Italian Kitchen, a neighborhood joint doing red checkered tablecloth classics, meaning there’s pizza and pasta galore. 267 N Pass Ave, Burbank

May 18, 2017:

Mid-Wilshire— Need whole fried lobster tails in your life? Thankfully The Fish Spot has opened, offering Mid-City denizens a variety of seafood delights that can be steamed, fried, or sautéed. Add sleek digs and counter-service pricing, and you could have the next neighborhood go-to. 5101 West Pico Blvd, Los Angeles

The Valley— Cruise down Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks and you might just whiz past Sushi Sazanami, yet another raw fish specialist in an area brimming with Japanese eateries. This one offers beautifully decorated surrounds, small plates, sashimi, and affordably-priced rolls. 12918 Riverside Dr, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Adding another great non-Korean option to Koreatown is Saiya Ramen Bar, a new spot specializing in tonkotsu, chicken shoyu, and veggie noodle bowls. 698 S Vermont Ave Ste 106, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Part of the reason dining in Koreatown is so interesting is the plethora of restaurants that specialize in just one dish. Another one-hit wonder, Pusan Joban Nak Gop Sae, is bringing a rather obscure dish from Busan, South Korea to LA. We’re talking about the namesake item nak gop sae, a stew that blends octopus, intestines, and shrimp that is a specialty of the bustling coastal city. The hot pot is cooked on every table, with a large, individual serving of rice intended to absorb the soup. 3516 W 8th St Ste A, Los Angeles

Glendale— A self-described “neo-traditional” Mexican restaurant has opened in Glendale on Pacific Ave, dubbed Brick & Flour. Boasting a straightforward menu of tacos, burritos, tortas, and bowls that can be made with proteins that range from al pastor to pastrami, it sounds like a great place to alleviate hunger. 1015 N Pacific Ave, Glendale

May 15, 2017:

Downtown— After a long day of work, you probably need an evening tipple to wash away built-up stress. Shoo Shoo Baby, a new Financial District bar, is hoping to fill Downtown glasses with reasonably priced drinks in its industrial, high-ceilinged digs. 717 W 7th St, Los Angeles

Fairfax— Longstanding Beverly Boulevard fixture Lulu’s Cafe was recently repurchased by its original owners. After a brief remodel, the neighborhood eatery that dates back to 1999 is back up and running with a menu of all-day breakfast hits that range from shakshuka to crepes. 7149 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles

Fairfax— Apparently Los Angeles isn’t at full poke capacity yet, at least according to 8 Oz Poke, which opened yet another raw fish specialist on Melrose just a few blocks from La Brea. 7217 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles

Downtown— Well this place looks absolutely adorable with a clean, cavernous hideaway in the heart of DTLA. Toastea, a quite aptly named new tea house specializing in, you guessed it, toast and tea, has opened near 7th and Grand. Patrons can build their own refreshment here, selecting their tea base before adding in a variety of flavors and toppings. Those feeling a little hungry can satisfy sweet cravings with one of four milk bread toast options that can be enjoyed on a cute-as-hell astroturf seating area. 600 W 7th St Ste 120, Los Angeles

Palms— It isn’t every day we hear of a new Indonesian restaurant popping up in LA. Mr. Sate aims to introduce the lesser-known Southeast Asian cuisine to the masses with, as the name would suggest, a variety of grilled meats on sticks. Also on offer are two varieties of Indonesian soups and starters like beef patties and corn fritters. 3456 Motor Ave Unit 104, Los Angeles

May 3, 2017:

Downtown— Taking over a standard issue Subway is a new eatery Lions and Owls in Pershing Square. While this is still a straightforward sandwich and salad shop, the quality of ingredients will hopefully make the restaurant’s turkey clubs and cubano sandwiches far superior to those of its predecessor. 458 Hill St, Los Angeles

South LA— Entering the South LA market not too far from USC is Dana Cafe Boba, a friendly shop slinging myriad sweet treats from fresh fruit-adorned shave ice to taro milk tea. 4260 S Vermont Ave, Los Angeles

The Valley— Another day, another Mediterranean entrant in The Valley. This one, Natanya Kosher Cuisine, actually looks like it’s worth exploring. With exceptionally sleek, clean digs, and dishes like white bean soup, chicken schnitzel, hummus shawarma, and a salad bar full of pickles and vegetables, it looks like a solid place to get a taste of Tel Aviv. 13321 Burbank Blvd, Los Angeles

Hollywood— The Filipino movement continues to make waves in Los Angeles, and it seems like it has no plans of stopping. Hollywood recently received a modern Filipino eatery, Barkada, in the former 9 on Vine space. Beyond Filipino dishes like adobo wings, pork and beef moneybags, lumpia, and a variety of ube desserts, there’s also DJ-spun tunes and loungey vibes. Open for dinner Friday and Saturday and brunch on Sundays. 1253 Vine St Unit 1, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Koreatown sure loves its drinking dens. And where there’s soju, there’s plenty of dishes to soak it all up. The newest entrant is Shuto Izakaya, where soju and sake is plentiful, as is sashimi, raw marinated shrimp, and spicy cheese chicken to go with it. 3869 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles

April 26, 2017:

Hollywood— Vying for the title of the most instagrammable new ice cream shop is Cocobella Creamery. The Fountain and Vine strip mall gem hawks vegan ice cream made with coconut milk, with plenty of options for those with dairy and gluten dietary restrictions. With both standard flavors and more, well, outlandish creations like the “Unicorn Magic” with with marshmallows, gluten-free animal crackers, and sprinkles, there should be something for everyone. 1253 Vine St Ste 12, Los Angeles

The Valley— There’s no shortage of outstanding Mediterranean eateries north of the 101. A new addition to the mix is Tel Aviv Grill, a sleek counter-service concept that hawks shawarma, kebabs, skewers, and falafel that can be ordered as a plate, pita, laffa, or baguette. 12450 Burbank Blvd, Los Angeles

Downtown— The Downtown office working crowd has a new ultra chic eatery that oozes European vibes thanks to Giulia. With a long, undulating bar, indoor-outdoor space, and menu of Italian favorites, it should be a great place for a sit-down lunch of after-work libation. 701 West 7th St, Los Angeles

FairfaxNonna’s Empanadas has been a W 3rd staple for sometime now. Well now hungry Grove shoppers have a convenient new place for a quick bite, as the Argentinian specialist has opened up a stall in the Original Farmer’s Market by Monsieur Marcel. With classic varieties, more unique flavors like the Filipino chicken, and a $4 price tag, you’re going to want to order some to go. 6333 W 3rd St, Los Angeles

Studio City— Yet another addition to the Valley is Maru Katsu Ramen, a Japanese eatery that hawks a variety of the filling noodle soup alongside small places and hand rolls. 11928 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles

April 19, 2017:

Mid-City— A new vegan eatery has entered Mid-City on Pico, dubbed Green Table Cafe. The adorable restaurant is the work of the couple behind the online community Real Raw Vegan, and features an airy, naturally lit space, vegan dishes, and, of course, juices and smoothies. 5998 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles

Hancock Park— Another day, another cutesy Koreatown-adjacent coffee shop. This week’s entrant is Bird on the Tree Cafe, a tiny spot that offers straightforward drip, espresso-based, and pour over coffee. Rounding it all out is a menu of sweet and savory crepes, paninis, and teas. 5223 W Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Have you had suhlungtang, or Korean bone broth soup, yet? Well before bone broth became a trend, the soup has been considered a healthy hangover remedy for centuries, and now the traditional Korean version seems to be picking up in steam in LA. The latest soup specialist is HaSunSaeng MasterHA, a new eatery that offers the bone broth soup, ox tail soup, and marinated raw crab. 1147 S Western Ave, Los Angeles

Downtown— Longstanding catering company Zlicious Catering has opened a Downtown outpost dubbed Z’s Crazy Good. Early Yelp reviews hint that the restaurant is still working out the kinks that come with an absolutely massive menu that has everything from breakfast staples, crepes, sandwiches, kebabs, burgers, and sandwiches. 401 S Hope St, Los Angeles

Highland Park— Is Parsnip the only Romanian restaurant in LA? Either way, it’s likely the cutest, as this bright blue eatery on York sports a quaint patio and tiny digs. Here you’re dining on a variety of savory dumplings, stuffed flatbread, and hearty plates like beef goulash. 5623 York Blvd, Los Angeles

April 12, 2017:

Koreatown— Another day, another cutesy coffee shop in Koreatown. This week’s entrant is Bia Coffee, a caffeinated beverage specialist that seems to have a penchant for putting flowers in your afternoon pick-me-ups. That’s right, this is the place for highly Instagrammable lavender lattes, rose cold brews, and appropriately floral sweets to go with it. 3907 W 6th St, Los Angeles

Koreatown— What happens when an art gallery meets wine bar? Yet another cool-as-hell Koreatown concept dubbed Art Major. The menu in this gallery not only consists of beer, wine, and cheese plates, but also coloring books, Fujifilm instant cameras, and board games. Seems like a great place to get together with a large group of friends within pop art-adorned walls. 636 S Mariposa Ave, Los Angeles

Hollywood Hills— Drive through the Cahuenga Pass and you just might encounter A Simple Bar. The aptly named evening establishment offers $13 craft cocktails, Rick Ross-inspired digs, and programming that includes Wine Wednesdays and DJ sets. 3256 Cahuenga Blvd W, Los Angeles

Sawtelle— Lovers of things sweet and beautiful will need to make a pilgrimage to Artelice Patisserie. The tiny Olympic Boulevard storefront hawks stunning French pastries that come with lovely packaging. Think sweets like dainty daisy-topped tiramisus and mini cheesecake bites. 11301 W Olympic Blvd Ste 125, Los Angeles

Hollywood— Taking over the short-lived vegan Latin-leaning eatery Chavela in Hollywood is The Parker Room. The lounge inspired by Jazz greats has a menu of bar bites that include Brussels sprouts and tacos to pair with a tight list of signature cocktails. Happy hours runs Tuesday to Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. 1358 Vine St, Los Angeles

April 5, 2017:

Koreatown— Now here’s an interesting concept. Red Cape is bringing a whole new type of all-you-can-eat to Koreatown. Nope, no meat sweat-inducing plates here, instead it’s unlimited quantities of two popular Korean street foods: spicy rice cakes and rice balls. For $9.99 at lunch at $14.99 for dinner, you can go down a buffet line selecting the rice cakes, vegetables, meats, and sauces to make your own custom tteokbokki. Hollywood— The Filipino wave has no intention of stopping, now with news that Fist of Fusion has opened in the Hollywood and Highland complex. The Filipino-Hawaiian eatery is the brick-and-mortar outlet of a food truck that was apparently once named Truck Norris before the iconic actor sued them. On the menu are rice bowls like the Notorious R.I.B., burritos, and garlic shrimp plates. 6801 Hollywood Blvd Ste 315B, Los Angeles

Downtown Last time we checked in with Goshen, the Historic Core newcomer was about to open its doors in the Van Nuys building. Since opening earlier this month, the fast-casual eatery seems to have gotten its footing serving sushi burritos and bowls (aka chirashi bowls), with a variety of raw fish and cooked meat options. 212 W 7th St, Los Angeles

The Valley— Taking over the former Rainbow Thai is Kazuki Sushi, a new Japanese contender that seems to maintain a relatively high quality-to-price ratio. On the menu are the usually roll and nigiri suspects alongside teriyaki dishes and other small plates. 13212 Sherman Way, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Koreatown has another lounge to its name thanks to Tanobar, a bar with a rather eclectic menu of bites that ranges from salmon sashimi to pizza fries to steak. 203 N Western Ave, Los Angeles

March 29, 2017:

Koreatown— LA’s most adorable new coffee shop has opened thanks to Beau Bar. The third-wave coffee shop has an emphasis on hip design that is reflected in everything from the hanging egg chair to the artsy graphic on the coffee sleeves. The specialty drinks get creative here, with iced Korean mixed grain beverages, hot red bean lattes, and mint matcha. 3300 W 6th St Ste 4, Los Angeles

Mid-City— A new all-day option is now swinging on Venice just west of La Brea. Mad Men Burger offers craveable American fare that starts off with lox and bagels for breakfast, and burgers, wings, and sandwiches for the rest of the day. 5301 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles

South LA— It’s always nice to see the push for healthier options in under served communities. Such is The Florence Deli, an eatery tucked away in a Quick-E Mart. Locals can nosh on everything from morning omelettes (although not until 11:30 a.m. when it opens) to heaping portions of salads and a nice selection of sandwiches. 2171 W Florence Ave, Los Angeles

Mid-City— Fancy food lovers, rejoice! All your hopes and dreams have probably come true in Truffle Brothers, an Italian eatery that specializes in the pricey mushroom. The work of two Italian truffle importers (who, as you may have guessed, happen to be siblings), the restaurant is quite a lovely place to pick up all things truffle while enjoying a selection of paninis and salads. Added bonus? All items are $9.99, which means you don’t have to break the bank to get your Italian fix. 4073 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles

Mid-Wilshire— Taking over the former Hunan Tasty is Fortune House Chinese. The restaurant boasts tanks of live lobsters and crabs offered at relatively affordable prices, and an extensive menu that features items like peking duck and cumin lamb. 6031 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles

March 22, 2017:

Eagle RockSpireWorks, a specialist in the vertical spit-roasted meat sandwiches known as doner kebabs, has opened its sophomore effort in Eagle Rock. Like the flagship Westwood location, expect customizable sandwiches and globally-inspired toppings created by consulting chef Kuniko Yagi, formerly Hinoki and the Bird. 4945 Eagle Rock Blvd Ste B, Los Angeles

Hollywood—It’s interesting to follow the quick flips of Hollywood venues. Take ORA Hollywood, a new club serving something that resembles Asian fusion fare. We here at Eater LA first wrote about the space back in 2010 when the club that was once known as Central was being reconcepted into the Spanish-themed Premiere. Five years later, Premiere becomes Toros Locos, and now, just one year later, it’s ORA. Let’s take bets on how long this one will last. 1710 N Las Palmas Ave, Los Angeles

March 15, 2017:

MelroseA new coffee shop by husband and wife duo Mike Khorosh and Alexandra Dickison has opened on Melrose between La Brea and Fairfax. Toasted and Roasted is a customized experience, with guests first selecting from a choice of fair-trade coffee beans before choosing a brewing method with options that range from pour-over to a state-of-the-art Steampunk coffee system. Koreatown— There may be no more rapidly developing restaurant neighborhood than Koreatown. One of this week’s new eateries is Ktown Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant serving a selection of nem nuong, banh mi, pho, and rice and noodle dishes from a Korean-translated menu. 974 S Western Ave, Los Angeles

Koreatown— If you haven’t had suh lung tang, you’re missing out. The Korean beef soup has served as a hangover remedy well before bone broth ever became a thing. Giving places like Han Bat and Sun Nong Dan a run for their money is Chakan Sul Lung Tang. The restaurant claims to be LA’s only all natural grass-fed beef sul lung tang without any MSG, which means it’s something like the Korean version of Phorage. 543 S Western Ave, Los Angeles

Downtown— You may have seen a new ramen shop flood your Instagram these days thanks to the newly opened DTLA Ramen. If the name sounds familiar, it may be because we here at Eater reported back in December that the concept would be taking over the former Alma space. That’s quite a departure from the fine dining nature of the former tenant. On offer are $10 bowls of spicy miso, shoyu, tsukemen, tonkotsu, and vegan ramen. North Hollywood— The unbelievable number of poke shops in the City of Angels apparently isn’t inhibiting restaurateurs from opening up event more fast casual raw fish specialists. TarzanaLow-key empire builder Blu Jam Cafe has opened yet another location in the Los Angeles area, this time in Tarzana. Downtown— Tucked away in one of Downtown’s newest hotels is the aptly named Tuck Hotel Restaurant and Bar. The brainchild of hotel proprietor Juan Pablo Torre, the all-day brunch restaurant has Spanish flair, which means you can start your day with tortilla de patata (Spanish potato omelette), quinoa tabouleh salad, and pancetta breakfast sandwiches. 820 S Spring St, Los Angeles

South LAAmerican Deli, a chain with over 130 locations primarily in the South, has opened on W Slauson in Harvard Park. On offer are, not surprisingly, tried and true American staples, that is chicken wings, burgers, subs, and apparently friend rice and gyros, too. 1600 W Slauson Ave, Los Angeles

West LA— Late last year, we here at Eater LA reported signage for a rather interesting mash-up concept: pizza and macarons. Well now the eatery, dubbed The Pizza Mac, has finally opened its doors, with a full roster of the French cookies alongside a build-your-own pizza menu. The head-scratching doesn’t stop there, as one of the four sauce options is blackberry jam, which, according to the menu, is “sweet and tangy for the sweet tooth’s.” 2029 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles

Sherman Oaks— If you happened to drive along Ventura Boulevard this weekend, you may have noticed quite a long line outside of Donny’s Breakfast Spot, what looks like the Valley’s latest breakfast obsession. The name of the game here is home-style Southern comfort food, which means a menu full of gut-busting favorites like chicken and waffles, fried catfish and grits, and more traditional egg plates. 13701 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles

Boyle Heights— Chinese takeout spot Tong Sing closed at the end of last year. Taking over is Wok on Soto, another American Chinese spot with takeout and delivery at the forefront of the business. Little Tokyo— Have you tried Japanese-Italian fusion yet? PASTA e PASTA by Allegro is trying to make the style of cooking better known in Little Tokyo. Dishes like Mentai pasta, made up of a Japanese cream sauce with cod roe and mushrooms, and uni pasta sum of the concept quite well. Westlake— It has been quite some time since a new cold-pressed juicery has opened in LA. Breaking the dry spell is Drink Houz, a healthy eatery that focuses on probiotic drinks, juices, salads, and sandwiches. The beet latte is especially fun for coffee art lovers. 3231 W Temple St, Los Angeles

The Valley— It isn’t every day that we hear of a new Moroccan restaurant opening up in LA. Luckily for Valley denizens, Couscous Bowl is now open slinging their eponymous bowls with beef or veggies, merguez plates, and a variety of salads and sandwiches. 5424 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Apparently Los Angeles still hasn’t reached maximum poke capacity, as a new fast casual concept, hndlgo, has opened in Koreatown Plaza. Beyond raw fish bowls, the counter also hawks salads, teriyaki, and dessert, all served in bowls. 928 S Western Ave Ste 132, Los Angeles

Encino— Did you know that The Valley has a respectable cluster of Korean restaurants? The newest one has landed in Encino, dubbed House of Galbi. This barbecue spot boasts a full bar, which means it should be a solid option to get your #meatsweats on. 15927 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles

Westchester— If for some reason you don’t want In-N-Out before your LAX flight, there’s a new contender nearby, Unity LA. Located right in the Hyatt Regency LAX, the menu is divided in an interesting format—Boyle Heights, East LA, Pico Union, K-Town, Thai Town, and Little Tokyo. East Hollywood— Interestingly, it seems Korean restaurants are starting to spread outside of Koreatown. This plant-based eatery by husband and wife duo Richard Torres and Lizbeth Sanchez is an all-day sort of place, which means you can take in the restaurant’s clean-eating ethos from breakfast to dinner, daily. Start off with an activated smoothie and chia pudding before noshing on quinoa bowls and medicinal herb salads. Is there a wide variety of cold pressed juices? Koreatown— Korean barbecue isn’t limited to grilled meats, as some K-town restaurants reserve their grills for seafood. South LA— Brothers Cary and Duane Earle have been a longstanding fixture on Crenshaw Boulevard. Koreatown— A temple of all things chicken has opened in Koreatown’s Chapman Plaza. Dong Dae Moon Dakhanmari, the first LA location of a popular restaurant in the Dong Dae Moon neighborhood of Seoul, is the place for dakhanmari, which translates to one whole chicken. North HollywoodCoffee For Breakfast, a Venezuelan breakfast and lunch spot, has opened on Burbank in North Hollywood. Sherman Oaks— Despite it’s name, The Valley’s new Let’s Pho doesn’t just offer the noodle soup and other Vietnamese dishes, but also slings an extensive menu of Thai dishes as well. The former Goldie’s has been revamped, offering a hip interior with a coffered ceiling, checkered tiles, and plenty of communal seating. 4344 Woodman Ave, Los Angeles

Silver Lake— The Forage team’s highly anticipated follow up Wolfdown has finally landed. Taking over the former Nicky D’s Pizza on Rowena, Wolfdown offers an unbearably quaint patio, beer and wine, and an Asian-influenced menu that includes dishes like stir-fried ramen with crab and uni, Korean fried chicken, and pork shoulder kare kare. 2764 Rowena Ave, Los Angeles

Koreatown— It seems that Koreatown can’t get enough watering holes, as a new contender, Tok, has opened on Wilshire. Drinking is the name of the game here, with affordably priced soju and beer, and Korean fried foods to soak it all up. 3807 Wilshire Blvd Ste 120, Los Angeles

Koreatown— The build-your-own model is really taking off in Los Angeles, as evidenced by the excess of poke restaurants that have spread across town. Well now apparently it’s time for BYO Korean barbecue, as Cup-Bop has opened on Wilshire with KBBQ in a cup. Diners select a base, protein, and toppings, with each item priced a la carte for a true BYO adventure. 4003 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles

Los Feliz— Speaking of poke restaurants, yet another has opened, this time in Los Feliz. Kope Poki, which follows the popular base-protein-topping structure, is notable for its adorable green exterior and tiny digs. 1903 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles

Downtown— Taking over the former Hummus Republic location on W 7th Street is the aptly named 7th Street Cafe. Hancock Park— Located on Melrose and Vine is a hip new burger joint dubbed The Burgerian. Van NuysFarm Table, a breakfast and lunch spot across the street from the Van Nuys Courthouse, has opened with a menu that has something for just about everyone. Westwood— Replacing the old New India Grill is Maharaja Cuisine of India. Think standard Indian favorites, but with a stellar $10 lunch buffet option that seems like an early favorite with the local office working crowd. 1321 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Parked on Wilshire near Western is the exceptionally named new food truck, Sushi Road Fighter. The new concept focuses on fusion cuisine that takes the form of bulgogi tacos, unagi burritos, poke bowls, and an assortment of rolls. 3680 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles

Koreatown— Koreatown is exploding with new restaurants, as it seems that the neighborhood gets a few new eateries to its name nearly every week. This time it’s Deung Chon Shabu & Noodles on Olympic. Pico-Robertson— A new neighborhood bar has landed on Pico, dubbed Founders Ale House. Northridge— It isn’t often that Korean restaurants break out of Koreatown. Luckily for Valley denizens, MUSSE is now hawking a wide variety of soups and stews like galbi jjim and suh lung tang. 8456 Reseda Blvd, Los Angeles

Downtown— Ben N Lin, a new coffee and sandwich shop, has opened on Crocker Street in the Fashion District. The quaint coffee house boasts drinks like Spanish lattes, pre-made sandwiches, and warm mom ‘n’ pop vibes. 921 S Crocker St C-21, Los Angeles

Beverly Grove— It isn’t always easy to find a great bowl of udon outside of Little Tokyo and Gardena. HollywoodBack in August we announced the upcoming La Carmencita, a seafood-focused Mexican restaurant on Highland. Looks like the restaurant is now open, swinging Baja-style plates that range from aguachiles to ceviches to octopus and shrimp tacos. Downtown— A trendy new eatery called Wake & Late takes over the former Semi-Sweet Bakery in the heart of Downtown’s Historic Core. With a slate of breakfast offerings, plus everything from salads, sandwiches, and late night snacks, it’s the ideal spot for busy denizens in the area. 105 E. 6th St.

Little TokyoTea Master Matcha Cafe is a new matcha-based green tea shop that opened in Little Tokyo. What you’re really going to come here for is the bright green matcha soft serve (perfect to pad your Instagram account), with a selection of teas available if ice cream isn’t your thing. 450 E. 2nd St.

West Third— A hybird Middle Eastern fast casual called Soom Soom (sounds like the Mazda catchphrase) has opened on West Third Street next to Cedars-Sinai hospital. Think shawarma and kabobs in a bowl with sides like hummus and pickled cucumbers. 8744 W. 3rd St.

Little Tokyo— Yet another notable Little Tokyo spot to check out: Baobab. With a sort of Asian-style take on Chipotle, expect burritos, bowls, and buns (instead of tacos) inside the Little Tokyo Village Marketplace. Koreatown— There’s a new Korean pig’s foot specialist called Myung Ga JokBal with affordable $10-12 lunch dishes and shareable combos that start at $39.99 and up go to $54.99 (which should feed a small army).
