A quick expansion for the young company
Another day, another new move along extra-busy West Third Street. This time there’s an expansion afoot, as the Arts District hotspot Inko Nito looks to bring its modern brand of Japanese robatayaki further west.
Some early city paperwork is up now at the new address at 8338 West Third Street, showing off the Inko Nito name for all to see. This is the former Bianconi space, which suffered a horrible fire less than six months after first opening in late 2016. At the time the company said they had plans to reopen once the structure was rebuilt, but sadly that never materialized. Now it’s Inko Nito’s turn to take over, adding skewers and beer and lots of charcoal-cooked vegetables.
Chef Hamish Brown will remain on to oversee the company’s continued expansion at their new Los Angeles address and potentially elsewhere. Inko Nito’s parent operation Zuma is already well-versed in big, showy spaces that draw a crowd — their Las Vegas outlet is particularly popular — so it’s likely there will be even more Inko Nito openings to come, beyond the existing London location as well. No word yet on when the official opening of this West Third Street space will happen, but look for something by the end of the year.
