The deep hillside option officially opens Saturday
The continuing Australian cafe invasion into Los Angeles has earned a new flash point: Echo Park. That’s where Pollen is set to take shape this Saturday, inside the building that for years was neighborhood favorite Fix Coffee.
Pollen is the work of the Brisbane, Australia-based Happy Fat restaurant group. They’re known for casual spaces that play to the strengths of their local communities, which is something ownership hopes to keep very much alive with their new neighborhood coffee and food spot. That means coffee of course, as well as breakfast options that skew Australian (think avocados, eggs, and all things sunny). Lunch will run midday, and dinner is likely to start down the line. The opening menu is below.
Meanwhile the now-shuttered Fix Coffee was for years a staple up Echo Park Boulevard, a hideaway with wifi that offered something of a getaway to the hillside bungalow community well up Echo Park Boulevard. Pollen officially opens tomorrow at 7 a.m., with food available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
2100 Echo Park Ave.
