He’s speaking, not cooking, don’t freak out
Want to get an up close and personal look at chef Massimo Bottura? It’s easy enough to do if you’re willing to shell out a few bucks to listen to the man speak on a panel about food waste.
The Michelin-starred Chef’s Table hero behind Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy is set to talk all about food waste in the restaurant industry with Jenny Jay and Amy Hammes, a duo of super-smart women working to bring the world closer to a zero-waste lifestyle. Evan Kleiman will be there as well, moderating the whole thing.
The symposium is called, correctly enough, Food Waste: Solutions Informed by Science (And What to Do With Your Leftovers). It lands on Tuesday, May 2 at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse inside Macgowan Hall, and you can get general admission tickets through the UCLA central ticket office for a cool $25. If you happen to be a student, you might even be able to score some limited $5 tickets too, but either way you should act fast, because it’s a safe bet this one is going to sell out quick.
