Plus the most insane daily diet you’ve ever heard of.
Orsa & Winston now has a full lunch menu
The Downtown fine dining spot has been doing grain bowl lunches for a while now, but recently expanded their offerings to include options like a salted cabbage salad and potstickers. Better still, they’re doing delivery to boot, thanks to high-end delivery service Caviar.
Westlake is changing, fast
Westlakers are growing increasingly concerned that they too will soon be priced out of their longtime neighborhood in favor of new construction and nightlife. The first court battle hasn’t gone their way, either, with the Flores brothers losing a key legal battle that would have kept Hotel Erwin owners Mark and Erwin Sokol from moving forward with plans for restaurants and a nightclub. Alas, the conditional use permit has been approved.

George’s Greek Cafe gives back
The Belmont Shore location of longtime Long Beach Greek spot George’s is looking to give back to the locals that have kept them in business for the past 10 years. They’re doing 10% off the bill, pre-tax, all day today, along with 50% off all bottles of wine.
Ushuaia Steakhouse rebrands
The popular South American finer dining spot Ushuaia Steakhouse in Santa Monica is undergoing a complete rebrand, joining up once again with their parent company Malbec Argentinian Cuisine (with locations in Toluca Lake and Pasadena). Now that the names and menus are all aligned, the former Ushuaia will come down in price a touch, and offer more non-meat options.
Pasadena gets its own Rose
In what’s sure to be confusing for out-of-towners, Pasadena is set to get its own nighttime spot called The Rose (not to be confused with Venice’s longtime option). This Old Town Pasadena option will be much different than the Westside favorite, instead operating as a music venue mostly, at the hands of Sterling Venue Ventures, a hospitality group. The upcoming location will also house the first California location of international chain CaliBurger, among bar services and the like.
The Moon Juice founder’s insane daily diet
The internet briefly caught fire a day or so ago, after an Elle interview with Moon Juice founder Chantal Bacon was released. The focus of the piece was Bacon’s diet, which consists of daily doses of everything from Shilajit resin to ‘activated’ cashews. The whole thing reads like half an Onion article, but is oh so real.
