Adam Fleischman’s latest project may search for a new home

It looks like a truncated run for Ramen Roll, the ambitious yet casual Culver City restaurant just off the main downtown drag. The Adam Fleischman-backed project has officially closed its doors, Eater has learned, but there could be something in the works elsewhere down the line.

Driving past the place the last few nights, it’s been clear that something was amiss at Ramen Roll. The restaurant claimed hours until 10 p.m. nightly but was dark for dinner, leading to some early speculation about their fate. Ultimately partner Andy Gavin confirmed the shutter, telling Eater:

Unfortunately, even though we had many loyal customers and great food, we were not economically sustainable in this location due to the combination of our low prices, large size, and high labor model: two kitchens, house-made everything, long cook-time broths, etc.. We had a great team, strong demand for our concept, and our investigating future options in a smaller location.

And so it looks like ramen fans will have to shuffle over to Tentenyu for their noodle bowl fix, with that oft-rotating location for Ramen Roll turning once again into a lease. Good luck to whoever ends up there next.
