Apollo Landing arrives this fall with plenty of known restaurant names
El Segundo, already a haven for fast casual franchises and big box stores, is getting even deeper into the game with Apollo Landing. Named for the aerospace industry that has long presided over much of South LA and the the South Bay, the new 13,500 square foot shopping plaza will play host to a number of familiar names, among them Shake Shack and Tender Greens.
The Apollo Landing website also lists a handful of other expected food and beverage tenants, including Philz Coffee, a casual seafood spot called Pier 76 Fish Grill, and Caló Kitchen and Tequila, a restaurant and bar serving Mexican food. According to owners Continental Development, the property is almost 100% leased already.
The plan for Apollo Landing is to open along Rosecrans Avenue in the fall. The addition of Shake Shack will certainly do much to anchor the build-out and draw big crowds — considering the next closest Shake Shack is in Century City — but only time will tell regarding Apollo Landing’s placement among some serious nearby competition.
There’s The Point, which has a number of local chains as well as Hopdoddy Burger Bar from Texas, and not far away is the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, with anchor tenants including Din Tai Fung. All that is to say nothing of the other nearby restaurants clustered along Rosecrans Avenue, from Houston’s to PF Chang’s to Grimaldi’s Pizzeria.
