The 8,000 square foot area is getting worked up by some very familiar names
The Artisanal Brewers Collective is back at it, this time landing some prime real estate in the core of Pasadena with plans for a craft beer and pizza restaurant, plus one massive patio. The unnamed eatery joins ABC, a quiet multi-owner venture backed in part by former Golden Road Brewing co-founder Tony Yanow, and their ever-enlarging lineup of restaurants and bars.
Eater caught word of the property from a source, with ABC later confirming the address at 650 E. Green Street, just below Colorado. Per the company, this will be a brewpub (which hints at the possibility of actually making beer on site, a la Simmzy’s in Burbank) that serves “California-style pizzas” and other “refined American” food.
Interestingly, the space being swallowed up is some 8,000 square feet, not including a rather large patio alongside the building. That’s a lot of room for food and drink, and what’s more ABC says a next-door space is also being retrofitted for a different, unaffiliated restaurant. The whole thing sort of sounds like Rossoblu/The Slanted Door at Downtown’s City Market South, outdoor space and all.
Artisanal Brewers Collective has, in the past year alone, swallowed up warehouse space in West Adams, a stunner of a space along La Brea, some famous property on the Westside, and one of the biggest bar group names in Downtown. They’ve been reticent about revealing much of their overall plans, instead letting news of each new space trickle out as they come. When all is said and done though, ABC and Yanow could conceivably have quite the craft beer stronghold on the greater Los Angeles area by 2018.
